Mushroom onion silk

The new Mushroom lantern is part of a range of lanterns using a mix of modern and traditional techniques. We utilise the precision of computer aided design and laser cutting to produce rigid frames in high quality birch ply. This lantern is very special, we’ve covered the structure with a locally hand dyed silk. This silk is dyed using local red onion skins and iron which give natural earthy patterns and colours. These patterns will vary slightly but will always have the same natural earthy tones. The view from underneath the lantern has been carefully designed to show off the form and structure of the frame with an over-sized LED bulb to finish. Each lantern is carefully constructed by hand from our furniture workshop in Suffolk.

Indoor use only (IP20) 6w LED bulb, black 100mm round ceiling rose and 1.5m of black braided cable included. The lantern has a fixed chrome lamp holder and stem inside ready to screw the bulb into.
