I love these wood veneers!!

I’ve found an ECO friendly alternative to rare exotic veneers which are becoming more and more scarce these days.

These beautiful wood veneers have been very cleverly manufactured from fast growing trees like Poplar. Veneer is peeled away from the Poplar and similar fast growing trees, imperfections are then removed and then the veneers are dyed with non toxic dyes and then re pressed in various ways to form new sheets of designer veneers. Some are similar to the rare exotic veneers, and some are totally new veneers unlike any species known which opens up a whole new world of possibilities for interior design and furniture production.

The fast growing trees are highly sustainable and renewed quickly so therefore has little impact on the environment. These ECO veneers along with the use of FSC approved timbers and materials, make my products not only beautiful, but made with a clear conscience.

I have started to utilize these new veneers in my designs. I now create a growing range of veneered lampshades and pendants and the Artisan collection can be made in any veneer combination from the range. My fantastic stockist in Edinburgh has commissioned me to make an Artisan Tall floor standing lamp using 3 different veneers from my range, and also a console table and corner table incorporating some fine inlay work with the same veneers.

Another great way to use these veneers are for kitchen doors. The veneers with their beautiful consistent grain patterns and colours finished with a highly durable gloss or satin lacquer give the wow factor your looking for in the kitchen. I will be show casing some examples of the finishes at the May Design series this year.
